Biography

Rogelio Pérez nació en Acaponeta, Nayarit, el año 1994 y, desde muy niño, empezó su gusto por el dibujo y la pintura.

Desde los 14 años ha estado participando activamente en varios eventos culturales, logrando así, a su corta edad, importantes reconocimientos. Destacan los siguientes:

  • UAN Zona Norte, por la elaboración del mural “Amor por mi norte”, realizado en la Unidad Académica del Norte del Estado de Nayarit.
  • Festival Cultural de Nayarit en Acaponeta, versión 2019, por su participación en la elaboración del mural “Nuestras raíces”.
  • El Instituto para la Mujer de Nayarit le otorga el reconocimiento por su participación en el “Día Naranja”, en la pinta del mural “Mujer bonita es la que lucha, en el año 2020.
  • 3er lugar a nivel estatal en muralismo, con curso convocado por la Secretaría de Bienestar Nayarita. Año 2020.
  • Representar a Nayarit en el 3er Encuentro Regional de Arte Urbano 2020, que tuvo lugar en la zona metropolitana del Estado de Querétaro.

Con la pintura, Rogelio siente que puede expresar todo lo que le pasa. Su inspiración puede ser cualquier cosa: vivencias, sentimientos, sueños… Así, ve de una manera muy propia y fantasiosa. Es en esos momentos cuando surge su magia de crear y pintar esas fantasías, las cuales le hace sentir un placer inexplicable.

When we were in Bucerias we were looking for some beautiful art by a local artist to add to our collection. We found the gallery and met Beatriz and instantly knew that her art was exactly what we were looking for. She was so friendly, passionate about her work and warm. She had so many amazing pieces on display. I instantly fell in love with this painting (Abstracto Azul No 2) and bought it on the spot. We also bought 2 of her smaller pieces for our young daughters to start their own art collection. Beatriz prepared the canvas for us to take home on the airplane, in a beautifully decorated tube and even brought it to our hotel. I am so in love with this painting and am honoured to have it hanging in our home.

I’m a block away from the beach in Bucerias but lack one thing…a direct ocean view. Today I found it with a beautiful piece of art and my ocean view from Galeria de Arte Bucerias. They are amazing to work with and I’ll be coming back for more art!

We met Beatriz at the gallery on our way to Bucerías. We were enchanted by her and her work. I noticed a kid hanging around and struck up conversation, thinking it was her child. It turns out he is one of the many street kids that hangs around during the day, and Beatriz gives them safe place to spend time, take art lessons and just have fun. I made a bargain with him that if he finished the painting he was working on we would purchase it the following day. We did that and paid Daniel for the painting, paid a commission to Beatriz, made two good friends, and came away with a big smile.

Super helpful and extremely nice. A good selection of original art that will fill in your empty spaces. I enjoyed dealing with them and have a piece of mexico on our wall now. If you have a home here or simply want to take mexico home with you after your vacation then stop in. They have large and small pieces from various artists.

Beatrice was very helpful when we were choosing a painting for our house in Conchas Chinas. She told us about the artist and helped us with our Spanish. We will return! I highly recommend this gallery.
